Construction Update

This page will be updated regularly with pertinent information as construction activities progress during 2020. As of mid-January 2020, the anticipated schedule of activities is listed below. The anticipated schedule will be updated here to keep the public informed on the progress.

  • June 2020: The contractor is making good progress on the new interchange project! As you see when driving by the project site, construction vehicles moving around and the site looks a bit different every day! Beginning Wednesday, June 3rd, the contractor will close the northbound entrance to 101st Ave. from Highway 169. Access to Grace Fellowship Church will be served from the recently constructed Xylon Ave. just east of the church. See the graphics for more information.

    Access to 101st Ave. west of Highway 169 will remain open for now.

    We will continue to provide updates to traffic switches and construction activity so please check back.
  • April 2020: Major construction activities to begin and continue through the season.
  • Beginning Tuesday March 31st until Monday April 20th, 101st Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic between Jefferson Hwy N and Winnetka Ave. The map below shows the general location of construction on 101st Avenue and alternative access routes to Grace Fellowship Church during the road closure. A new church access roadway will be constructed.
  • March or April 2020: The successful contractor will likely mobilize equipment and prepare the site for construction activities. This will include moving heavy equipment and materials onto the project site; clearing trees as necessary and moving underground utilities.
  • February or March 2020: The City of Brooklyn Park will review bids and award the project to the contractor who meets all project requirements and has the lowest proposed cost to construct the project.
  • January 2020: Interested contractors to submit bids for construction of the project.
