April 22, 2004 Public Information Meeting Summary

On April 22, 2004, the second of three public information meetings on Phase One of the Anoka CSAH 14 (I-35W to I-35E) Study was held. The meeting was from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Chomonix Golf Course in Lino Lakes. An open house format was used and several presentation boards displayed information about:

Anoka County and SRF Consulting Group staff members were at the meeting to answer questions and listen to comments from the attendees. 47 people signed in at the meeting, and attendance was estimated at 65. The meeting attendees included:

As part of the effort to inform area residents, business owners and other interested parties, more than 1,700 newsletters were mailed out a week prior to the meeting. The newsletter presented information about the study and the date, time and location of the public information meeting. A comment form was also included so that people could send comments to the Anoka County Highway Department. At the meeting, a handout was used to explain the purpose of the meeting and identify the next steps in the study process and additional copies of the comment form were provided. As of May 1, 2004, 13 comment forms and letters have been received.

At the meeting, the attendees reviewed the presentation boards intently and asked County and SRF staff members many questions. In addition, many of the attendees commented on the proposed alternatives. Several ideas were repeated by the people attending the meeting and on the comment forms:
