Welcome to the City of West St. Paul's Robert Street Improvements website. The City of West St. Paul was awarded a 7 million dollar grant by the Metropolitan Council's Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) for improvements to Robert Street. The grant is part of a federal transportation funding program. Every other year the TAB requests local agencies to submit projects within the metro region to compete for federal funding in various categories, and in 2010 the Robert Street corridor was one of those projects selected.

The funding will be used to improve Robert Street from Mendota Road to Annapolis Street and consists of:

  • Upgrading the curbing and pavement
  • Adding a raised and landscaped center median, and turn lanes where needed to improve traffic safety
  • Replacing the existing street lighting and repainting/replacing traffic signals

The grant funding will be made available to the City for construction starting with the 2013 federal fiscal year (October 2013 through September 2014). The City has hired SRF Consulting Group, Inc. to provide professional design services for this project.
